found a some bottles/dump at old abandoned farm property

not much evidence of a farm at this location anymore , is actually a red pine forest now mostly , would of been abandoned in 1920's or earlier . had checked it out last year but didn't find anything , went back this week and walked around whats now a forest with metal detector and got a few good hits , started digging and was surprised to be finding broken glass that looked to be pretty old . dug this hole pretty deep and about 1 ft down I found 3 not broken whiskey bottles and an old blue marble . in picture also found some broken dishes that are stamped made in England and lots of glass similar to the whiskey bottles .

these 3 bottles cleaned up pretty well , likely very common but maybe something else is buried down there , have to go back and finish digging that area . they must of thrown out some other bottles if it was in fact a farm back in the days .

Looks like 1890's-toc, always worth digging out. Likely a ravine dump as most farms/ranches usually dumped away from the house and livestock. If it peeters out, look around the same area some more as it was likely spread around to fill in ravines that can be shallow or deep. Potatoe rakes are often a good tool to discover the dump areas....good luck and keep us picture posted.....Jack

went back to the property , this is what it looks like from the dirt road , all trees now little evidence it was ever a farm . old maps indicate same family/person owned 2 - 100 acre lots here and buildings were rate near the road where trees are now . I was surprised I managed to find some bottles on this property as its so grown in now .

what I found on second dig , another identical whiskey bottle , some sort of ketchup bottle maybe ? , lots of old nails , a .38 caliber shell , metal spike , shard from an olive green bottle , 8 necks from broken whiskey bottles . so far not a lot of not broken bottles .

this ketchup bottle is unusual , haven't seen one before , no company name on bottle , only marking a " 2 " on side

this location isn't far from where I live so went back there and dug again , sort of taking a long time to go thru this dump due to soil being hard to dig and bottles seem to be all over a large 10 ft and growing area but not really any large concentrations of bottles .

found some more broken bottles , 2 clear mini corked bottles , mini Sherwin paints bottle , green wine bottle , whiskey flask , light blue insulator

the bottles cleaned up , insulator has a nice colour to it but some damage on back .
