Help dating - Poison bottle and pills

I found this bottle in my crawl space. The bottle is full of pills that have a skull and cross bones and printed with POISON. May not be THAT old, but the house was built in the 1920's. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum! 1920s looks about right at the latest, could have been a decade or so old when it was put in the crawl space too. I think they're most likely disinfectant pills which would have been dissolved in water when used. It's possible that the bottle was repurposed to hold them, maybe after the original broke, since this sort of thing would usually be held in a bottle which was embossed with the word POISON or some other sort of warning marks.
