I came upon this bottle yesterday i think is beautiful ,just don't know what it was used for,it is an olive green w/pontil has been hand blown little over 5 inches tall 6 inches round the sprought has been melted to the bottle as well as the handle very unique anyone no anything about it thanks the lid is hollow and is 2 inches tall

It has similar color to the Jamestown glasshouse reporductions but I dont see it in thier current collection. The style seems a bit like middle eastern import. Is the inside of the neck actually ground to fit that stopper? I would consider it a decorative item.

the stopper actually fits in different as you turn it ,there is a certain position that fits in snug

HI GRACIE , I HAVE ONE ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE YOURS, I GOT IT AT A LICAL THRIFT STORE, I AM TOLD THESE ARE MODERN MADE IN MEXICO TO LOOK OLD, STILL PRETTY THOUGH!!

I think they're a different take on what I call Spanish Wine bottles. Like the ones with the small pocket for ice. Spain Mexico, Italy or somewhere else are possible.

It is an olive oil cruet. Very common around the mediterranean countries, where olive oil is produced.
