    ROME

A lot of GPS directions given for Rome are incorrect. If you can find the Steak n Shake and Applebees, the bottle show is on the hill directly across from these fine dining establishments. The Civic Center is actually off of Turner Mccall Boulevard, not Broad street.

    religious medallion

That's a medal from World War 1. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ If you post a pic here, someone can tell you exactly what it is.

    Western Union Telegraph Company

Looks like an ingot of babbit metal or nickle. I've got a couple of bars of nickle that are very similar to that one.

    What are these?

They could be sock darning eggs. They were slipped inside the sock to let the darner repair the hole.

I FOUGHT THE MUCK AND THE MUCK WON!!!

Hi B3, you might want to try a Thermacell for 'skeeters. We use them during the fall bow season and they really keep the bugs away. Nice diggin' spot.

Old House With 1820s Gravestones Need Help!!

Swizzle, a fellow somewhere around Atlanta did the same thing last year. Let the local media know about it and they'll do the work for you. That's what happened to this guy. I don't know if he was prosecuted, but it did stop the destruction of the rest of the cemetary.

http://www.eriksedge.com/PH164.html I think this is a nicer version of the blade.

    Strange Knife,Whalers?Pirates?or Who?

It looks like a Phillipine parang or talibon (not the terrorists) sword or knife. The handle may or may not be complete. Because of the fine ring structure, the handle may be horn. Check out Oriental Arms website for some other examples. If there is a swirling pattern etched into the steel...

    damn bees

Some yellow jacket nests can have up to 5000 little nasties in 'em. They don't fly at night, so if you can spray them after dark, you have less chance of getting stung.

    any ideals what this is

Looks like a sharpening stone for grass knives or scythes. They were carried on the belt in a metal cone with water in it. They still put a wicked edge on stuff.

Felt & Tarrant Manufacturing Company, Chicago.

Looks like it was an early calculator or computer.http://members.cruzio.com/~vagabond/ComptHome.html
