I found this medal just in front of our barn door (our farm was a church camp, hosting revivals in the barn and summer camps for kids - little cabins once were scattered about the land)
I was just doing the "poke around with a stick while my dad chatters on" thing I often do and thought I was digging up a key.
This medal is about 2.5" tall and pretty heavy. I believe it is copper. It shows an angel with a trumpet and "1917 -1919" on the front. The back is flat and reads "??????? by the citizens of Salem Ohio, July 7, 1919". I've tried to research what it is, but all I've discovered is a man once living here served in the military from 1917-1919. Any ideas or guesses?
