Is this a Lighting Rod Top?

I got 4 privies to check out in a downtown location. Friend owns the site and just bulldozed the lot to fresh black topsoil. I picked this glass up at lunch time today....This stuff was just laying on the ground. Hope find some cool pop bottles and pharmacies. Rick from Kansas

Kansas Privy yield little Sunday morning.

Its been a few years since I've dug. Ken saw my video on youtube and stopped by my barbershop. My daughter and I assisted Ken and his son Owen in a local privy dig. 1880 Hotel site, not much to offer. I've got lots of permissions. We stopped at the seed layer, Ken probed and said it felt...

    Small mystery pit

Dug stone liner last spring, probed a spot adjacent to it. Dug it this weekend. It was about 2 foot deep then very hard black clay/dirt, no walls. Broken stuff on top 1 foot. Seemed like there was a lot of burnt coal and cinders. The soft dirt followed the east wall of the privy down. I'm...

    Dug 9900 golf balls

Local Golf Course lake is almost dry. Once in a life time opportunity! Need to keep at it before it rains a bunch. Look at the video and you will crap your pants! All these balls from one water hazard and more to pull, then on to 2 more water hazards...

    American Digger - Rick Savage

Lets start things off by saying Rick Savage and his "American Digger" show is a bunch of lies, total lies. I refuse to comment on any specifics in any episode. All of Rick Savages shows are planted with false finds for amusement. His show is about as truthful as his stupid wrestling was...

    Whats up now?

Being a barber in small town Kansas gives me plenty of permissions. I go 3 this week. All are on 1885 Sanborns and along the alley. Interested in finding a soda bottle from a local company, actually bottling companies were in town. Plenty of bottles from the later one, but NO bottles of the...

Sidewalk leads toward the alley then turns.

This home is on the 1885 Sanborn with a long sidewalk leading toward the alley, then it makes a 90 to the east and continues for about 10'. Is this a possible location for privies? I've scraped the dirt exposing the sidewalk. Alley is 15' on past the sidewalk end. Probed a bit with my 5'...

    Big local brick yard site...

Its frozen and cold in Kansas. Looking at old maps and talking to barbershop customers is fun. 1891 the local brick yard was in full swing. It was real close to downtown. Story is the clay pit was the town dump site for a few years. Any thoughts ? Hope the picture of the site comes thru.

1850 Santa Fe trail station - Still intact

Its like walking back 150 years in time. Stage Coach stop / Hotel from 1850's. It's still standing in a field 20 minutes north of me. I need to get permission to do some poking around. http://www.kansasheritage.org/research/sft/mcgees-tavern.html...

    5 foot of solid glass

Yesterday a younger customer came into my barbershop and I started talking about bottles and stuff. He works for Herman Excavating in Topeka, Kansas and runs a big track hoe machine. He said a few months ago he was working on the new Cancer center behind the hospital and dug into a deep brick...

    Unusual Pharmacy Story

I am Barber in Osage City, Kansas pop. 3500. I'm 51 years old and have heard a hand full of stories. Recently I became interested in bottle digging and mentioned it to an older retired man who worked for the city. He remembers helping a downtown pharmacy move to a new location and he and...
