Marble...? Anyone like 2 inch ones?

I don't think that's a marble. It looks very similar to some aftermarket gearshift knobs that I've seen on a few 1930's cars.

    Yesterdays privy dig

Wow! That link was great. Now I'm a wall tube insulator expert.[8D]But seriously,I've been seeing the unglazed porcelain ones at a local dump that I dig for years.Unfortunately, this one dosen't have any markings but it is made of brown glazed clay.I didn't even connect the brown one that I dug to...

    homemade probe

I've got a 4ft. fiberglass probe that I bought from EGW utilities. It's super hard to push into the ground because it's as big around as your index finger. It is also hard to distinguish glass from bricks, rocks, etc.just by sound. My favorite probe is one that I made myself. The shaft is made from a...

    Yesterdays privy dig

My camera's not to good on close up shots but I'll see what I can do.Anybody know what the small brown item in the center of the photo is? It is round with a hollow center and it has a glaze on it similar to a bennington marble.I was thinking maybe it was some kind of pipe?

    re umberto olive oil

I've dug two or three of them over the years. The ones without the embossing are more common around my area. The last embossed one that I dug was aqua colored, looks like yours might be clear from the pictures.

    Yesterdays privy dig

Dug two privys yesterday behind an 1890's saloon. This is what I found, mainly whiskey and beer bottles. Also found a clay marble. The bottles on the back right are dark green, almost black. I guess they are beer bottles. The bottles laying down in the front are some really rare local embossed...

    Peppersauce?

Hello, A friend of mine dug this bottle today and he was wondering if it was a peppersauce. If so, is it a rare type? We've never seen one decorated in this manner. The mold line stops 3/4 of the way up the neck. Thanks, nitedigger Picture cropped and reduced in size - please see...

    Cleaning Old Bottles

Barkeepers friend also works really well on dingy ACL soda labels. But don't rub too hard because it will take the label off. I usually just put some on my finger and then rub.It will make those labels look like new.
