I have a amber 7up bottle that I dug here in San Diego and was curious of its value.
It is a 7oz. painted labels, embossed bottom that says STAR BEVERAGE CO. SAN DIEGO.
It is clean no cracks, chips and the paint is in very good shape.
any help would be appreciated. Chuck

Welcome to the forum. Small world! I also live in the San Diego area.

In near mint condition a San Diego amber 7up can go as high as $500.00+ to the right collector.

Great find. They are extremely hard to come by in any condition, and only bottled in San Diego in that size.

PS ~

I can possibly hook you up with a local buyer if you are interested in selling it.

I hope you don't mind that I rotated and cropped your picture. It looks like a real beaut. Check the bottom and I expect you will find a glass makers mark that looks something like this ... 23 <(I)> 6 (The second number is likely to be either a 5 or a 6 for 1935-1936. The makers mark is likely to be for Owens-Illinois, and if it has a 23 that is for their bottling plant in Los Angeles. The Star Beverage Company bottled other brands of soda pop as well.

How's about a picture of the back?

Thanks.

Bob

Thanks. Based on your pictures, that is one the nicest one's I've ever seen.

In case you are thinking about doing some additional cleaning, I recommend you hold off on that for the time being and leave it as is.

So far so good. It's definitely an Owens-Illinois bottle and looks like it has one of the "mystery" 24's on it that I have seen but which is not an O-I plant number that I am aware of. But no biggie on that. Is the second number a 5 or a 6? I can't quite make it out.
