Went on a dig recently with the crew (Digger Don and Blade) and came up with this Amber soda. It reads J. Maicks Superior Mineral Water Reading. Has anyone ever seen one of these? And if so what is the approximate value? Thanks.

Maick is a well known bottler from Reading, Pa, but I don't think this version of it has been seen before, looks earlier than the other known styles, mid 1840's-ish, killer bottle. The bowl is Chinese export from the early 1800's, Nanking style I think, or more likely an English copy of it. I'd go back & look for the top to the bottle, it's probably the only one known[;)]....

The amber Maicks has been reported to me by several people, but this is the first examle that that I have seen. This bottle ate about 1844-45.
