hey all found this yesterday. when i first saw it i thought it was part of a mug. after pulling out of the sand i found that the top was ground smooth its missing a handle of some sort allso the bottom is some what uneven an sharp. thanks for any help bill

hey all well i belive i know what this is now. had a man look at it yesterday whos know around theses parts to know antiques said it was a open salt dip. said ya just reach in grab a pinch an salt , says its 1890- 1900 said it was a common one that he had a few that were really fancy. said it was all hand sanded or ground. thanks for looking all bill

Bill, there are also teensy spoons, usually glass or silver, that were used with the Open Salt.
