I dug this clear hutch several years ago in Frederick, MD. Anyone have info, rarity, or value on this hutch? It's embossed Jas F. Taylor New Berne N.C. Part of the hutch stopper is in the bottle.

Thanks,

I'm guessing $75-$100 for yours in the condition its in. I've seen a couple in worse shape go for $50. Nice hutch!

ncbred,

Thanks for the info. Reggie Lynch has one for sale on his site for $50 - http://www.antiquebottles.com/rl/hutch/ So I think $75 - 100 is in the ball park based on the condition of mine.

I just realized that there's an E on the end of New Bern. Are all the Jas Taylor hutches spelled that way or this an error? Reggie's is also spelled that way.

I'm trying to decide whether I'm ready to part with it and put it on my table at this weekend's Baltimore show, if anyone's interested.

I think New Bern was actually spelled with an E sometimes back then. Just like other local cities around here Tarboro and Goldsboro were sometimes spelled Tarborough and Goldsborough. Maybe it was the Yanks that spelled them the latter.
