Soda related but not bottle related thread. Sorry.
Maybe an unusual question here. I have seen alot of different soda brands on patches to be used on, I assume, delivery drivers' uniform shirts. My question is, have you ever seen a uniform shirt (or even a picture ) with an oddball brand on it? I mean I have seen shirts on ebay for Coke, Pepsi, 7UP, Dr.Pepper. But have you ever seen an actual driver shirt for any other brand? I have an Orange Crush back patch from probably 1940-50. But I have never seen an OC shirt. Not even at collector conventions. How about Dad's Root Beer? Nesbitts? Canada Dry? Squirt? NuGrape? I have all these patches, never seen one on an "official" uniform! I was just wondering if the uniform showed other brands the bottling company distributed. Was Dad's on a blue or yellow or white shirt? NuGrape on a purple? I know this sounds crazy but I am curious why other brands drivers' shirts don't exist? We got patches but WHAT were they put on? Or do I even make sense?

Terry
PS: I thought about this when someone brought up the Popeye thread about a sign and bottle cap but never seeing a Popeye bottle.

My brother-in-law worked for Pepsi for over twenty years and I never gave the patches a thought at that time . Wish I had now .

When I worked at the bottling plant in the '70's we were given a uniform each year, consisting of three shirts, two pairs of slacks and a jacket. The jacket and shirts had patches, and we had the choice of blue uniforms with Pepsi labels, or green uniforms with 7-up labels.

The last year that I worked there, we were given generic gray uniforms, with a multi-logo patch that had Pepsi, Crush and 7-up on the same label.

Other than a couple of the Pepsi labels that I removed when discarding the worn out clothes, I don't have any of them left now. :(
