Ball jar with a German Cross

Hello everyone,

I just moved to Ohio and was out garage selling when I came across some old Ball jars. One of the jars had some kind of a cross on it and also I believe the patent 1858. It was only ten dollars, but decided not to buy it. I was hopeing if someone could tell me anything about what I came across. I know I have seen this bottle before, but dont remember where.

Jar section would be the best spot for this question...Unless it's a bottle of color I think it isn't all that uncommon...

It was a blue jar if that helps. I will take your advice though and check out the jar forum.
