Black glass is usually very old, and while the scarring on this bottle makes it hard to determine what is an original mark or a later bit of damage, I think yours is certainly old. The base, neck, and lip all look pretty crude, though the lip is at least somewhat evenly applied. I'd guess 1830-1860, but I'm certainly no expert.

Looks like a British black glass ale bottle. Old, but how old is often difficult to detremine with British black glass bottles since they used the type of bottle much later than in the US. probably 1880 to 1900? I have found a similar bottle with a US crown style lip.

We found a lot of British ale bottles in BC where I used to live, and I don't ever remember coming across one looking like this. I think this one is probably pre-1880, we didn't get many bottles from before that era out there.

I have similar bottles, identified as ale, dove them, the sand type pontil mark may be British and the 3 piece mold is like 1870 plus.
The pics attached are for a bottle estimated at 1820 ish, note the pontil scar on it
There is a FB page called Black Glass Bottles who are helpful at this.
