Dug this yesterday in with bottles. Maybe a buggy or carriage step? Looks fancie must have been a expensive one. Anyone seen or dug one? BOB

Side view looks handcrafted and it was silver plated.

That's really cool. Maybe someone can say or sure if it is. It's easy to forget they were actually driving those things instead of cars, you know? Cool find.

Looks like a piece poured in a foundry. Too ornate to be handcrafted. Don't know what its use was though. If it was a buggey step it was a shin buster.

idk..if it was a step why does it have a spot on each side where a pin was to allow it to move up and down like a pedal ..woudlnt it just be mounted onto the vehicle? unless it folded down somehow...just thoughts from looking at it..hell of a paperweight
