Seems to me it would be relatively easy to counterfeit some of the more valuable old bottles. How do you experienced collectors detect counterfeits?

I seem to recall that not too long ago we had quite a thread regarding this very subject.[8D] Speaking of which, has anyone heard from 'Bearfan'? I wonder how he made out on e-bay with the infamous 'poison inks'?
