picked these two up of nick rowland auctions on the weekend. Both very dark. The R. White is so black light doesn’t penetrate it.

no not Australian. If they were then they’d sell for many hundreds of dollars. they are both very early and date to 1870s

I assume they're British in that case? Never seen any UK bottles like that either but UK soda bottles show up quite rarely here - apart from major brands like Schweppes the only ones I ever see date from the turn of the 20th century and I'm pretty sure were brought over here recently rather than being dug here. UK sodas of the 1870s and earlier are something I'm pretty much entirely unfamiliar with.
