I went out scouting over the weekend in an area where I have been finding a little here & there. I probed along a creek bank and was surprised when I started getting into some older glass. I was even more sirprised when this one popped out!

It is an open pontil W.F. LAWRENCE'S GENUINE PREPARATIONS from EPPING NH. It came out clean and mint. I obviously washed it out before taking these photos.

ORIGINAL: JOETHECROW

That guy's clean as a whistle....Nice bottle!

hey Joe, it came out of the water along a creek bank. I think that is the only reason it came out looking so good. All I did was rinse it out with soap & water. The cool thing is, I think there are more there. I can't wait to get back in there!

That's amazing. I love it. You just don't find pontils like that that don't need at least a light tumble. Very sweet NH. You're a digger to be admired. Swiz [:)]

Thank you Swiz. These days I just dig because I love it. My knees are shot, my feet hurt every day...but I just won't give up until I end up in a wheel chair. I can't dig the 15 foot holes I used to dig but I have something better now to work with. They call it experience. It is not every day you can go out and read a landscape, probe a little, and pull up a nice old pontil like that. When it happens, I consider myself lucky. I hope all is well with you and your family.
