I was out digging today and I dug this german bitter bottle. It says HERTRICHS BITTER EINZIGER FABRIKANT HANS HERTRICH HOF and some other jargen. The bottle is in good shape. Anyone seen this one before? Value? Is it rare? Thanks for any help.

Your bottle is listed in RING-HAM as H-104 in three sizes and all are RARE. Value is listed by them as $400+ and as a former BITTERS specialist I would agree. If it were an American bottle I believe it would be worth at least 5 times that much. It has everything going for it in my opinion. You dug it ! ! ! WOW ! ! !

Congratulations !

If anyone wants to buy this bottle send me a pm. If no one in here wants it I had a crappy offer from one of the local diggers in my area. He offered me $100. Should I take it? Seems low?

Before I could give a truthful, accurate offer I would have to know the EXACT condition of the bottle. You describe it as good condition but that really doesn't tell us anything. If it has a crack ANYWHERE $100 is a fair offer. If it has a chip(s), scratch(s), scuff(s), stain(s), etc that would all effect the value.

It is a QUALITY bottle and unless you are in a big hurry I believe you should research it's value much more by having one / several dependable collector / dealers look at it in person. You have a number of such in your immediate area if I read your "handle" as New Hampshire Picker.

I suggest take your time and determine exactly what you have.

The bottle has no damage of any kind. It has no scratches or stain. I had a guy look at it but I think he may be low balling me. I understand it is a German bottle and may not get what the good US ones get. I am just looking for fair market value. A 100 seemed a little cheap to me although I am not the authority on old bottles. Thanks for getting back to me.
