Hi all, just was wondering if anyone could help me with a bottle I bouhgt today. Looks like an early apothecary bottle to me, it has a ground pontil and good base wear and measures 10 inches tall and 12 inches tall with the stopper. This bottle is a dark purple color but looks black without light behind it and the stopper has a ground pontil also. Could any of the experts tell me if its early or not. I have seen similar bottles with painted labels that had the same exact pontil. Thanks for any input. Kevin

matters what you call early?
I dont think its modern.
I would guess its a European apothecary bottle maybe from 1900 +/- a few.
The black glass would be good for working with photosensitive chemicals.
