I found this shard of a early soda water and need help identifying what bottle this is from. I suspect it's of NY origin and early 1840s vintage. Any help would be appreciated.

It would be so much easier if you had found more letters.[]Vannah White from The Wheel of Fortune might be able to help?
What if it spelled -------------------------T SODA co.
----------------------------------------------- WATERTOWN
---------------------------------------------------- NEW YORK
This is close but not your bottle because of the T preceding the Word SODA.I do feel now the letter is an O as you have stated and probably does say
SODA OR MINERAL
------WATER
Now all you have to do is look for all the soda water bottles from New York state in the 1830 to 1860 time period that had this type of Lettered embossing in their descriptions.Good luck
Hey Steve, I think you might be on to something. The layout of the embossing would agree with SODA OR MINERAL with WATERS below. There also appears to be the bottom portion of a T as in TWEDLE at the top. Although there is no CELEBRATED and there's the T apostrophe thing. It could be an early variant of said bottle. I think your on the right track. []
