RE: Electric

Hey diginit. Is the bottle actually embossed with the word laxative? The reason I ask is because I have the Electric Bitters bottle with the box and label for the laxative. I suspect that when people were becoming wary of the patent medicines and bitters, H. E. Bucklen & Co. changed gears to sound more reputable. Not wanting to waste bottles they had already purchased, they just slapped on the laxative labels and changed the boxes. Again, this is a guess on my part.

The bitters bottle is common, worth $15-$20 without labels, etc. I've never seen one embossed "laxative". Such a bottle would definitely be more rare, but it might not have the draw that the magical word "bitters" has.
