I guess the whole jug must have been painted red at one time. Apart from the chip on the lip I didn't see any major damage.

The jug at the local antique store is from Trenton, not Paterson. All I remembered was that it was from NJ. Anyway... Here is a pic of it.

It's for sale in one of the antique stores near me. If anybody else is interested, I would be happy to comb the local antique stores looking for whatever you want. Other people doing this for me has helped me on more than one occasion.
