I went camping recently on a private 50 acre lot just southwest of Haleiwa Beach. The local farmhand told us about some bottles he found nearby the irrigation reservoir on the lot. Most of it was smashed long ago or had fallen off the cliff into the gulch. The Waialua SW bottle is a good contender for a cut down. I'm a bit sad that the Mitsuya Cider (green fragment at right) wasn't whole. I checked inside the reservoir and found part of a liquor jug and another fragment of a pre-ww2 Kirin Beer bottle. Pretty good for a camping trip.

sounds like Japanese beer was common there? LEON.
Well, considering that in 1920, 43% of the island's population was Japanese, it's not super surprising. Just about everywhere I've dug, I've pulled some Japanese import bottles.
