When bottles like these are the first ones of the year, it is definitely a good sign for the future! These were found digging yesterday with a buddy who also found a nice one and even though that green one with the tubular pontil is broken off it is still killer and it was the first one dug in 2022!!!

Also if anyone has any ideas on a particular glasshouse attributed to or the glassmaking process used for the pontil bottle let me know. It was found in Southeastern, CT.

Looks like it's gonna be a great year. That is a crazy nice green bottle. I only find small pieces of pontiled stuff lately. Big piece like that would have me stoked. That's a awesome sign.

Wow, that pontil is fantastic! Shame about the neck but at least you've got enough of the lip for it to display alright. Are open pontils often found on whiskey bottles like that? We don't get many pontil liquor bottles up here but I don't remember seeing many like that posted online before.
Great embossing on the Healy and Bigelow as well!

Definitely enough to display, but I do need to head back to that spot and try to find the rest! Open pontils are Definitely rare on whiskeys, especially ones as crude and tubular as this particular one. The color is also a different shade of green than most.

I
Definitely going back to this spot. I had also found shards of a cathedral pickle
Have a similar spot with old shards. Only found pieces but it promises some old one. Pontiled by the looks of the glass. Here is a puff bottle neck. Lot of bubbles & crud in the glass.
