Hey, all!

It's been a while since I made it onto the forum to check out what's been happening, so it's good to see everyone still doing their thing.
I made it out for a short dig in the swamp today - the same dump that Kyle and I have been hitting up for a while now. It's a great dump (though it could be a little older), with lots of cool stuff and tonnes of bottles in it. The only downside, as my first photo shows, is that it's very much in a swamp. As soon as your first shovel full of dirt comes out of the ground, the water just fills right in. You need solid Wellington boots or hipwaders to hit this dump!
While slugging away at the underwater trash layer, I found a few interesting things. I got into a small pocket of ribbed Orange Crush bottles (pulled out a total of three in good shape, and several others broken).

And then, while hucking shovel-fulls of muck from the depths up onto the edge of the hole, I spotted this rather colourful piece of porcelain. To say the least I was excited, as this marks my first ever intact potlid! I don't think I could have asked for a more colourful one with a more ornate transfer, either.

Suffice it to say, this one piece made the dig totally worth while! While a few other interesting but common pieces turned up as well, this was definitely the highlight! I love the "Proprietors of Genuine Yankee Shaving Soap" portion of the marking... makes it seem so much like some other piece of advertising for the company, rather than one of the products disposable containers.
I searched the forum and found one link to someone else's find of one of these, but the JPEG appears to be corrupted or linked to a non-existent photo, and someone in the post mentions at least two variations in these. I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with rarity and age on this piece? I really don't know the first thing about it.
All the best, and good digging!

And this one's for McTaggart67. His namesake, I understand, and also a piece recently dug from this dump. I was equally excited to find it!

The potlid is cool, something I don't see in this area. Maybe it's just the photo, but the violets look hand painted, which seems really odd for what must have been a mass produced piece designed to be thrown away.
