Me and a friend were walking a ditch the other day and we found what seems to be a flask. I don't have pictures yet because it is in my friends possesion. It is a dark green round bottle with a screw top. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Rachel,

When referring to bottles, I think most collectors here in the USA, would agree that a "round bottle" is not a flask. See: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/flask especially for the comment "A flat, relatively thin container for liquor."

This does not mean, of course, that the bottle did not contain liquor; merely, that it would not be considered a flask form or style.

Hope this helps and does not disappoint. Good luck in your hunts. You're in a good region for some rewarding finds--they're still out there. Learn, look, find, and then learn some more!

Regards,

Will
