Hey sand, looks a lot like the deep purple one on the link. I know this isn't the insulator or what is it forum, but just what IS it? This is a first for me. Never have seen a side tab before.....here's a couple pics.
Hey epackage, I am fairly fearless, but once I got into this one, even I got spooked early on. There wasn't much left of the rock liner holding up the one side, and I knew I needed to quit when I start thinking my best escape route is to duck into the hole as opposed to trying to jump out! I figured the slab to be too big to fall into the hole, but then where am I? In serious trouble, if still alive! Also, it started to snow and with every flake I kept thinking the wall was popping! Coupled with the cold, it just became too much. Plus the glass seemed to be peetering out.....That's what I remember telling myself! Ha! Jack
Its a cross top lightning rod insulator. They were mounted up against the building and insulated the lightning rod cable from the lightning rod down to the ground. Here's some more info:http://www.cjow.com/archi...tors.htm&year=2003
I always enjoy your posts. Nice to see a new bottle. It looks like you have had a fantastic digging year. So far. There is like three weeks left. Be safe when you dig. Scott
Holiday greetings, Jack, Thanks for some great dig shots, another hot digging tale and the dreaded stymie pit. Oh, how it beckons… [/i]I think I'd be tempted to visit the demo guyz with a case of good cheer under my arm, to see if that overhang could be removed. Wonderful inks, sir, and I wanna see mo'betta photos of that decanter, whoever is that blue guy, and the wonderful Chinese Spellcheck Blueing. Thanks for taking us along on a great glass hunt, with a decidedly Pittsburgh orientation. [align=center]
