went back home for a weekend visit and picked up some bottles and jars from a old bottle collector I have known for years. went to buy the pair of squats but as usual I bought more. the very small I believe 1/2 pint lighting is one i've never seen with the unusual top. I really don't collect pickles but said what the hell.my favorite is the quart lighting with awesome color.is it a dark citron,yellow olive? great condition and ground mouth. the green Schaeffer squat comes in aqua also.the John C.Brown was the main one I wanted. first one I have ever seen in aqua. last a dark bear figural bottle with no markings. enjoy the pics!

I love them all actually. The lightning looks "yellow amber" or "honey amber" to me. Nice whittle on yours. The 1/2 pint Putnam is usually referred to as a salesman sample size, but it could have been labeled and sold as a product jar, who knows... The lid doesn't look original to me. A closer picture would help. Does the bottom of the jar say "Putnam" or "Trademark Lightning"?

bottom has both lightning and Putnam 438 and on the side it says registered us patent office. I question the person about the lid and they said it was original to the jar. as I thought a salesman sample.
