Hi everybody. This is my first message on this forum. I'm 22 years old and live in Slovenia.

When i was like 6 years old, i found a bottle in Adriatic Sea (between Italy and Croatia). Only recenty i discovered it again under some junk. I decided to find out as much as i can about it, especially how old is it.

Here is the picture of my bottle.

Things written on the bottle:

J.SCHWEPPE&CO
51 BERNERS STREET
OXFORD STREET (i think, cant see well becouse of dirt)
AERATED WATERS
GENUINE SUPERIOR

Should i clean the bottle? (and how, those sea things are hard as rock!)

Thanks for your help.

I would use muratic acid and water in a bucket, about 1gallon water to 1/2 cup acid and soak for 48 hours, if your in a hurry mix it 50/50 for 24 hours,
I would guess it's from around 1875 to 1885. great old bottle.

Thank you. But how concentrated muriatic acid should i buy. More like 10% or more like 35%?
Thank you again.

Here is another picture from different angle.

That is a beauty! In Minnesota, my friends and I are always search for those round-bottomed torpedos, but we almost never find them...Nice Find! [;)]
