Smooth lip and base, no visible seam lines, ribbing is on the inside only and starts in the base, offset from dead center. So My question is, is it SCA early 1900's ? or just light purple glass c. 1970's ? Jar is 11 1/2 in. tall, and family owned since 1980's, pic's to follow, Thanks... JB

That's a real tough call from the pictures. It looks like candy jar or something. It could be nuts, gauze, cotton balls or anything. I'd go back with the 1915 or so. They did have art glass back then and why create such a faint color in the 70's.
Unless manganese got back in vogue or trace elements of cobalt were accidentally in the batch.[8|]

It's a nice looking jar that screams "modern" to me, but I don't know a thing about these so I'm hoping someone else will chime in who does know...

I have to admit I was thinking like Jim,( Modern ), but the color and knowing it sat in a relative's deer camp window for years, had Me thinking Sun colored glass. My Guess was a candy jar as well, there is more wear than appear in the picture, (My camera may be as old as the jar...OK maybe not). Anyway thanks for the input.
