So therrrrre I waaaasss ( my 8 y/o daughter likes when I start stories like that) looking around near an old cellar hole filling in all the holes from a very lazy metal detectorist. I was about to fill in one of the holes when I noticed a busted Hutchinson neck laying in the hole. I started to scatch around in the hole and found another neck and the rest of the busted bottles. Then another and another and...... It was almost sunset then when I started pulling the busted glass, but I did manage to pull 33 Hutchinson bottles out of the hole with only two of them intact! I t got too dark to see so I need to head back to see what else is there. I'll post some pictures when I get back from work. Happy digging everyone.

A bunch of them were "Electric Bottling Works" Philada, PA. They also have an embossed ball with lightning bolts coming out of it. Does anyone have any info on these? I haven't been able to find any yet. Thanks

I don't know but they sound both cool and collectible. There are collectors that specialize in pictured hutches. By the way, I've said this before but save the stoppers from the broken examples. They are still worth something and can be put into bottles that are missing them. Please post a shot when you get a chance!

I like the 'potential' picture. It makes me want to start clawing at the dirt myself! I'd love to see one of those lightning bolt hutches if you get the chance. (Nice pics by the way.)

Ha. Thanks. You got them up before my message hit the cyber screen

Wow. They are cool. They look really tall and the graphics are fantastic. I wonder what the overlap between modern electric usage and hutches is? It can't be very long. I suppose that old Ben Franklin was experimenting with electricity and it could simply be that.
