check with a local sawmill or someone local with a portable bandsawmill have them saw up some pine into wide boards 14- 16" wide. Rough cut u-pick up is usually pretty reasonable and bandsaw puts a pretty smooth finish on them. After there down run a belt sander over them an you have a fine authentic looking floor for alittle money and alittle work.

How about a dirt floor? Just kidding. What type of room are you trying to duplicate from 1900? A bar room, a living room, or what? Pine floors are a good choice as was suggested. Buy some black cut nails and face nail it, that looks old and authentic.

you can always use a good floor paint and paint it black, that looks cool. Or pick another color.

Holy Smokes! Thank you for all of the input. I am amazed. I always pictured it in my head but actually seeing the wood layouts looks better than I imagines.

You should easily be able to reclaim some cool old wood flooring out of a blighted or abandoned house. Might want to re-think the barnwood in the bar area. Could make for some nasty splinters if not sealed properly! I agree, hand hewn barn beams are awesome.
