Here are a couple goodies I dug over the last couple weeks. The weather has been unusually warm but there still is some frost.... But it ain't holding back this Taz! Enjoy! Jim

How do I clean this one? Or do you leave it as is?

The Mr's Winslows is pontiled! I found this one upside down half embedded in the frozen earth up against a tree... I carefully carved it out with my pocket knife and could hardly believe it was undamaged!! Hope you are all having a great New Year! I know mine is off to a good start.... Taz

As for the first item I wouldn't clean it most people would like it as it is and if you did clean it that in itself might drop the value of it.

whatever you do dont clean the powder holder....... you will hurt the value extremly...... war collectors will pay top dollar for that piece .........it could fetch more then 800 if its a uncommon one..........

Hey Taz...

Leave it the way it is...[8|] That looks like a powder horn for a flintlock or cap loader... (black powder) type of firearm. Looks European or maybe Hession (sp) Impressive though... whatever it is...[:-]

Nice to see you guys up on the forum...

Like the others said on the powder flask, don't even remove the dirt. Check the top for any markings.

Thanks Mike, I got an email off to your stepdad. He sure does do nice work! And thanks Karen for the I.D. on the salt shaker. I didn't know if it was a cosmetic or a lamp base! Taz
