Hi all,
Got this in a box of bottles about 20 years ago and always considered it a tourist reproduction. Before I give this to the wife for her to sell in a yard sale for a nickel, thought I better check with the experts. It has bubbles, stretch marks and a broken pontil but??????

Hello Grizz44; It is hard to tell about the pontil use, because the picture isn't clear enough. The best tip to consider is the mold seams and whether there is a mold seam on the handle. If there is a mold seam on the bottle form that is OK, If it lines up with the handle and shows on the handle then you know the handle was formed in the mold also. The point being if the handle was pulled from a gather and then applied to the bottle then there is enough labor in it to make better than a garage sale item. The marks on the glass tell us a lot about the method of manufacture. Every piece of glass can tell its' own story, This piece looks like the handle is applied. This puts it in a possible $ 25-30.00 class. RED Matthews

I'm about 99.9% sure it is. Many forms of religious glass came from many other parts of the world. If you live in the US, I'd say Mexico or South America. If your in Europe, maybe Italy, Czech Republic or other. It's hard to say for sure.
Sorry for the maybe unwanted answer but welcome to the forum.

Hey Chuck.

I don't know what to tell you, but I'm thinking way newer than older.

There's the maybe it's a Blue Nun theory, that isn't blue in your case.

This guy's gotta blue one:

His, or hers, is way BIGGER. The carpet doesn't seem to match the handle on that one, or is it just my monitor.

Blue Nun wine, has been around since 1923.

DMIC is way older.

Thanks Jim from Jim. I am truly ASTOUNDED at the prices realized at auctions. Over $150 for this CRAP? That is truly human nature for you. I am flabbergasted (bet it's been a LONG time since you heard that term) how some people have more money than sense. Maybe shill bidding involved, I don't know.

Nuff said.
