Just Moved Back Home From Korea! Introduction~

Hello all,

My family and I just moved back from Korea after living there for over a decade. My son Oliver(11) and I did a lot of metal detecting and bottle hunting there and have a decent collection of old Korean Coke/Pepsi/Fanta bottles, as well as many different types of soju bottles from the 70s. My oldest stuff is probably my small collection of Crown Beer bottles (a Korean company that formed after liberation) from the mid-1940s. We now live in Falls Church, VA and have some spots where we hunt for cool stuff.

I absolutely love Coca Cola bottles, especially the Korean ones and am always looking to purchase them. If anyone has Korea Coke bottles collecting dust, especially the blue glass ones from the 60s let me know. Here are some pics of my digs and acquisitions in Korea:

Here is a pic of the only Korean Coke bottle I have. I picked it up on my first of two year long tours of Korea while I was in the Air Force. It is not for sale but I wanted to share the pic. I also have a full bottle of soju. It is part of a shadow box I was given before I left.

Awesome! That is the 1990s model. That older soju bottle is really nice as well. What years were you there? I was at Humphreys from 07~12 and then back as a civilian from 14~20.

I was at Kunsan July 1999 to July 2000 and Osan January 2005 to January 2006. I got both of them when I was at Kunsan.

Hello Michael! welcome back home! and welcome to the forum. Cool stuff, thank you for sharing the pix and the story with us! I hope you have fun here. Your stuff is out of my collecting focus.. but still enjoy seeing others collecting interests. There are folks here that will be able to talk to you more about your glass!
