found this off a dock here yesterday , have this thing called a metal magnet ( not sure if I've mentioned it before ) first time I used it this year , use it a lot during the summer around docks here . mostly picks up modern Canadian coins ( as there made of magnetic metals or nickel ) , nails , screws and modern bottle caps
I pulled this out and saw that it said coca cola but was covered with rust , so tried to clean it some more . very carefully and used a very small stick to poke a lot of the rust off
to my surprise it revealed more words and says " Browns Beverages ltd - Gravenhurst Ont " bottler of
Coca Cola , trade mark reg , under contract with coca cola ltd
Browns beverages was our local coca cola bottler going back to the 30's and kept bottling until the 70's , I have a general idea when this cap is from but not ready to determine an exact date
don't really collect bottle caps but I've seen a lot on ebay before , not sure if I've seen this one before but seen similar ones for other bottlers
