MACASSAR OIL

Hey kind pontil folk… I bought this bottle cheap today ($4) with plans of resale… don’t really collect this kind of thing but for the price I had to buy it… was wondering if anyone was familiar with what this might bring on ebay… I saw one similar bring over $400 recently HERE… the bottle looks to be the same but that one had more embossing then mine… mine only reads MACASSAR OIL… thank you kindly for any info

Well , I have no idea of its value , but if I only gave four bucks for it , I would put it on eBay and let it rip and not even worry about it .

I hear ya... I am not worried at all... as it is, I kinda feel like I stole it.... I think I will start the auction at $8... worst case I double my dollars and buy something else []

I would think it would do pretty well , you sure can't lose on it . Nice bottle . like those open pontils .

I'll watch for it. It is a flared lip and especially undamaged will take it up a notch.

You've got one of the American versions there, they do a bit better then their English made counterparts. The one on ebay was also American made. I recently sold the English made version of the one that just sold on ebay for 200... that being said the heavily embossed versions are more pricy, but you ought to do a bit better then 4 bucks! Good luck, nice pick up...
