This Bottle is about 9 3/8" tall and 4" dia has no seams I can see. Any info on its possible age, history, use and value would be appreciated. There is the remains of a cork and some liquid inside, should I clean it out?
Hi outdoorzen, welcome to the bottle forum.
That is a soda syphon, they had a metal top (plastic in the modern ones) to despense (sp) the soda, oz-riley or anyone else able to post a photo of a top ?
The value of clear syphons here can be anywhere between 50 cents to $150-$200 I don't know about the prices in the US though.
The age of your one is most likely between 1890 to about 1920.
Hi can't find a thing on this, except as you probally know, the lettering and picture on bottom were acomplised via acid. The bottom is realy good someone spent a lot of time I would bet to do this, really nice how they did the bottom.

HydroFluoric acid or a acidic mix with Sodium fluoride is the stuff [] , some were sandblasted too you can tell them from the stencel (ie P's, O's etc have a line thru them) . I think they used a wax transfer and then painted the acid on.
