Syringe?
Urethral syringe? YOWCH! Makes sense, however. Thanks for the ideas & info everyone. I'm pretty sure the three nozzles are from an old enema contraption, I saw identical ones in the local (Murphys, Ca.) Museum.
I do know the history of my property & so have a good idea who & how this stuff all got where it is. Thing is, there should be stuff back to the early 1850's & so I'm trying to carefully get deeper. Very difficult material to work, only practical when the ground is wet. Once dry it's about like concrete. I've actually hydraulic mined it, to get down to the pay zone. In addition, 6 feet down at bedrock where I've reached...there's a good pay streak of gold...so I have to go slow & carefull where the bottles are, and once thru that level I run the dirt (clay mostly) thru a gold screw to recover the gold. My experience so far indicates about 1/4 oz. to the yard of paydirt. I have to be as inconspicuous as possible, so the neighbors don't get a bug up their patooties...so I'm being patient. It's a big dump, and I expect to be working at it for a while...years looks like. Here's a pic of the main hole right now. I can only really move significant material when it's rainy & the ditch has water in it.
