I've been swamped lately with work, but have been taking short breaks to get out and do some light digging/searching. I've found a nice ACL dump, and another huge dumping area spanning 1870s-1910. I haven't had the time to get deep into either dump yet, but I've pulled a few bottles from random test holes. Some areas are very shallow (1'), others I've gone down ~2-3' and haven't gotten past ash.

Here is my favorite from the ACL dump, but this one is actually embossed. Its a spring water from Bear Mountain Spring, bottled at Bear Mountain Inn! If you're from the NYC suburbs, youve probably been to (or heard of) this area. Its bottled by the Palisades Park Commission, the agency which manages the majority of the parks in this area.

I found 3 busted ones while digging, and was completely bummed they were broken. But on the way out I decided to dig one last shallow, and there it was.

This is from the ACL dump too, but again, not an ACL. I just thought it was pretty cool, and unexpected.

Now onto the older stuff:

As is expected, the older dump runs along a stream. The dump I initially found has the older goodies, but it has been covered by a swath of boulders. Digging is restricted to reaching between boulders, but almost everything is shattered (even some really thick ginger ale torpedoes).

However, on the opposite side of the stream there is another small dumping area which is pretty shallow. These two Westchester bottles came out of that side:

DH Smith, Yonkers and Fred Boock, Tarrytown. I found a DH Smith codd as well, which is my first codd I've ever dug (but it was broken).

This next one was a serious cryer (for me) - the design on this is just spectacular! Too bad its in pieces, but now I'm on a mission to find a whole one.

[align=left]This was actually only about 1mm below the surface, I almost dropped a rock right on it! I wish I had my camera, because it was embossing-up and looked unbelievable. It has a nick on the lip and base, but both are on the back, so it displays very well!

Apparently these are rare in any color other than cobalt.

[align=left]A number of slicks came out too. Some nice/some common.

This shard came out of the older side (in the same hole as some 1880ish shards). Any ideas on what it came from?

The hazard and hazard is the older variant of that bottle, and in gasoline? Amazing! Nice dig... I dug a peacock blue one once...
