Nice big stoneware bottle

I picked this up today, it is a cobalt blue topped 10" tall 12 sided stoneware bottle. This is Marked LYDON & BLACK and I cannot find any info on that marking. The inside is a brown glaze. Is this from around 1870 and is this a beer bottle? Any info is very apprectiated. Jay

Reminds me of the "W. Smith/Patent/Pressed" stoners I have seen over the years with the panels. Very cool no doubt!

Nice bottle, I think these types were mostly made in Ohio.
