Now that the snow has melted I've had a chance to get out and search for some dumps in my new town.
Unfortunately nearly every bottle was busted and there were lsot of NYC/NJ ACLs that I have not seen before. Was only able to do a little bit of digging as the sun was going down, but I saved these 3 sodas.
The CITY is from West New York, the Hoffmans are from NJ. I'm looking forward to getting back there and *hopefully* finding some more that are unbroken.

I'll post more as they come out. I've never been too into ACLs but lately I'm finding myself very interested in them.

Acls will grow on you. There is such a vast variety of brands, it's almost endless. And speaking of broken bottles, it has always amazed me that all of them aren't broken. I could never understand why someone would throw away a "return for deposit" bottle. I could understand this once the brand was discontinued. But the majority of dumps and other places, like rodsides, where I have found soda bottles, were from a time when the bottles were still returnable. And yet people still tossed them out by the truck load. Why? This has never made sense to me, and I have yet to hear a logical explaination for it. But I am sure glad they did dispose of them ... because 90% of the approximately 500 in my collection I either dug or found laying around someplace.

My motto for bottles dug or found is ... "Keep 'em all!" You never know how rare they might be 'til you get them home and research them.

Unfortunately there is a chunk missing from the glass in the middle of "steady"....

I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for any of your NJ towns while I'm in there [;)]

If you and others run out of ideas what to do with those chipped and broken bottles, try this ...
