One for Red

While going through a box of stuff I dug years ago, I ran across this little bottle, and thought Red would enjoy it.. The bottle is 3 7/8 in. tall by 1 1/2 in. across the base.. I cannot see a seam line above the ring, there are 2 internal lugs inside the mouth and 3 of the 4 corners have ridges while the fourth is flat (last photo-upper right) . I had a fruit jar with internal lugs that were in the neck of the jar for a stopple, but have never run across anything like this.. It looks like a mini pickle jar.. Any thoughts on age/make/contents ?? JB

Well I like the looks of it. I am working on a computer page of closure details, and that one looks different that any I have. The big question is, are there any seams on the finish zone of the bottle? I am thinking there will be. RED Matthews

The bottom looks like something you'd see on fancy glass tableware, but the rest of the bottle doesn't. I've never seen anything remotely like the closure on that one. That's one of the strangest bottles I've ever seen.

RED, Sorry for the slow reply.. There are no seam lines on the outside of the bottle above the ring, there is a vertical seam around the mouth on the inside, below the lugs.. If interested, You can have the bottle, just pm your NY address.... JB

Well I did it again. The address number is wrong - it should be 4740 Rt 414. The 5440 is in Florida. things like that go along with old age. I guess. RED M.
