I know these have been talked about alot recently. But I found another one at an antique store over the weekend. I am posting it mostly because it was only $1.50. And in very good condition with almost no case wear(just around the bottom a little) The person probably didn't know that it was different. I know have 3 of these. They all have the same markings on the bottom With just the last numbers being slightly different. all read: S 68 (most likely the year) A (in a circle) 2 19 (my other 2 have 16 & 14 respectivly) All are 10 oz with red dots around neck. This could be a clue as to where & why, But I don't have the answer to that question right now. Thanx for lookin.[attachment=Pepsi reverse swirl #3 bottom(KS).jpg] [attachment=Pepsi reverse swirl #3.jpg]

You're killing me Iggy!! I have been looking for another one of these. I have 1 but it has case wear. You're making me jealous! I need one in good condition for my display.

Sorry I do not want to sell it. My other two have case wear on the bottom and top. They are 3 of my prized bottles in my pepsi collection. Thanx for the offer though.

"A in a circle………Armstrong Cork Company (Glass Division), Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Millville, New Jersey [former Whitall Tatum Co. plant] ; Dunkirk, Indiana [former Hart Glass Mnfg Co. plant]. Mark was used from 1938-1969 on bottles and insulators. If there is a line underneath the “circled A”, this indicates the bottle was produced at the Dunkirk plant." They might have more to do with the glassmaker rather than the purchaser of the bottles. There might have been a mistake in the making of the mold for these.

Excellent. Thanx for that info morbious! There is no line underneath the A. So that should rule out Dunkirk Indiana. I gear towards a mistake of the mold.

Other than the red on the neck, I found one that looks identical to that. I accidentally broke it as I was kayaking. I didn't know the swirls' direction affects value? Broke it about five minutes after finding it in the creek under a bridge.

So far, all of the Lefty swirls have the red dots and are 10oz. The Right swirls are very common and not really worth much. You likely found one of these. However, these lefty swirls are seemingly more rare.

It was pretty worn. I spent two days on and off thinking on which way the swirls went before posting. I only know what I saw through the algae that was left of an ACL.

Here are the links to the two other threads on this subject, both of which contain a lot of good information ...

1. Original Thread = August of 2013

2. Second Thread = December of 2013

These two ads are the earliest I can find than mention the Pepsi swirl bottle ...

1. The Logansport Press ~ Indiana ~ July 25, 1958

2. The Daily Times ~ Salisbury, Maryland ~ September 25, 1958
(This one is unique because it is a full-page advertisement)
