I found an insulator today that I has a drip bottom.
It has petticoat embossed on on side.
H.G.CO.
PAT MAY 2nd 1893
It is a green color as seen by the picture.
Can I get an age and other info on this?
Thanks
CD 151
Color = Aqua leaning to the green side
Obviously 1893 to perhaps 1920 Others might have a tighter timeline.
Used primarily for Telegraph. Railroads liked them.
A collector favorite shape, comes in a W I D E variety of colors. Exotic colors are PRICEY +
The points on the bottom are called "Drip Points". Not all CD 151s have DPs. Some have DPs on both inner and outer skirts, some just outer.
H.G. Co. stands for HEMINGRAY GLASS COMPANY. PETTICOAT refers to the inner skirt.
BROOKFIELD made the same style / shape without the DPs.
HEMINGRAY & BROOKFIELD & KING CITY GLASS WORKS are the only known manufacturers of this style, there are un-embossed pieces of unknown manufacturer.
