poison?

in the current glassworks auction they are calling this bottle a poison with a wasp embossed on it.

Looks like a honey bee to me. Seems atypical of english poisons. Is there some documentation that these are really poisons?

I always see this listed as an English Poison, I don't know anything about them except to say that it's a great looking bottle...

They always seem to sell well...and I have seen them listed as you say, as a poison. but speaking with Jerry, and I have to agree, they are not. They may be a scent bottle or toilet water bottle (that just sounds bad). They do look nice, but the odds are they are not poisons. They show no charactoristics of such. Just wish one would show up with an original lable to we knew exactly what they were to set the record streight.

Shapewise it certainly doesn't scream "poison"... The color and the embossed bug would suggest bug poison though. I wouldn't care to make a call either way though.
