Hi All! I want to first of thank all of the members whom have helped me out in my previous posts! With all of the hours I have spent trying to research bottles, this has been by far the most valuable resource I have found yet. So THANK YOU!!

This is another bottle/decanter I found at a garage sale. It is 8 inches tall, not including the stopper. I am not sure if the stopper is original, although it is what came with it and it fits perfectly.

This bottle/decanter is beautifully simplistic yet complicated. Almost primitive like, with the intention to be sophisticated.

There are no seems that I can tell at all on the bottle. All of the cuts (if that is the right term) are unique with not one being the same as another. There is a section of uncut glass that circles around the lower neck above the shoulder with no seams at all in it. There are a few, not many bubbles in the glass. There is a round polished indention in the bottom(Pontil Mark??) and a single bubble about the size of a very small pea in the same area.

Any Idea on the style, year or any other info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again!!!

It looks to be a blown three mold decanter, not sure of style or date but its definately old,I'd guess 1870 or so. The stopper looks period also.

Thanks for the info appliedlips!

Would this be considered a "polished pontil"? And in pic 2 you can see a section of smooth glass that runs horizontally all the way around the bottle. There are no vertical seems in this section, it is completely smooth and clear. What sections of the bottle should I be looking at to see if I can find some seems?

Thank you again for your advice and info!!

I'd call it polished and as for the seams I think I see what your both talking about. I do see what looks like a 3 part part mold but maybe the area in the 2nd picture was maybe ground and polished also.

The stopper looks period also.
That I think even if the same time frame it not original to that bottle.

Here is another picture of the cuts. It is tough to get a good focused picture. It may be hard to tell, but I can not find one single seem on the bottle at all. Every cut mark is unique and there are no strait seem lines at all that I can find. None of the cuts on the glass line up at all.

And one more thing for anyone who may know. I washed this bottle out about a week ago with several other bottles I have. There is still condensation inside this bottle from then. All of the other bottles have completely dried out but this one still has condensation droplets on the inside as you can see in this picture. After washing it I propped it upside down over night to allow all of the excess water to escape but it still has condensation in it. Does that mean anything as far as what type of glass it might be??

Thanks

Oh and I did leave out the stopper for 2 or 3 days before I put it back in.
