I am looking for a good book on various ACL's and their values.

An emphasis on bottles from the far western and southwestern states would be a huge plus.

Please, just help me out here!

I went to the bookstore last night, and they didn't have anything at all.

Should I go to the library, or Amazon?

Man o' man, what a can.

You could say, "If ya don't have one by now, you never will."

Let ol' Poison Mouth explain what I mean.

There only three books that I know of that deals only w/ acls. There is three editions of one said books..................it's the fourth edition that's the can of worms. The other two books SUCK.

Now from time to time you can get the ones that really suck, but the good one, well like I said "If ya don't have ................................

There are a couple of state acl books I need mention. W. Va. has one and I belive it's N.H. & Vt. also.

Some miss. soda books have a few bottles thrown in too.

Then you can get product specific books.

or

Brand specific ones also.

................................................ but if ya want one for the Pacific North West ya need to get.

Hi'ya Kid,

I don't own an ACL book, and it shows. I've heard members talk about several books, but they all seem to have some flaws of some sort or another. In no particular order, are a few places you might look: Rick Sweeney, a guy out yerway with a couple "editions" under his belt.

Allan Petretti has at least THREE EDITIONS to his credit. Reggie's got some suggestions.

Geeze, I zigged when I shoulda zagged, again...

Hey Kid,

You asked for a "good" book. I'm not sure any of my listings fits that "good" category.

Here's a guy with Seven Editions,

not one of which I know the goodness factor.

Chris Weide and Dennis Fewless have One Book & 2 more coming soon. All, aparently first editions. Our own Dennis Smith / celerycola has a book or 2 up his sleeve:

From. Dennis, you might set these guys straight...

Have a look through the SHA's Reference Stack.

This one's not perfect and not exhaustive by any means, but it's probably the one you want. Unfortunately, like Pat said, it's near impossible to get anymore.

Thank for all the links and information guys.

Wow, I think that I have quickly come to the realization that a new ACL soda bottle book on collecting and values is desperately needed!

Why don't we members here produce our own E-book about the topic? I'd be willing to bet that there is more than enough brain power and knowledge between the lot of us.

We could have really nice clear and crisp photos too.......and it would be FREE! And, if you wanted a hardcopy, all you would have to do is print it off from home. Let's get a research team started up.....we'd have to compile data from these older books, plus what has changed since then. Certain members could pick a certain topic to cover. This could be a multi-year project, and we would keep refining it and making it better. And then, maybe some year, actually publish it if there is enough interest.

Hey Matt,

Is that how this translates?

Let ol' Poison Mouth explain what I mean.
