I did not know that there was such a thing as round bottom beer bottles ,would like to see some with label pertaining to where they originated from . Years ago , I had dug several of these round bottom bottles in ash dumps , some of them still having the labels still intact believe it or not , but of course they were well deteriorated . But on a few of them , I was actually able to see some of the printing . Those that I could see printing on were all ginger ale bottles , and they all had triangular labels on every one of them , probably from the same bottler . Does anyone have or seen any of these round bottom sodas with labels , and if so were any of them something other than just ginger ale ? And if anyone has some that are beers , I would love to see some pictures posted of them .
The ginger ales were all I ever saw Rick , and I believe they might have been from Cincinnati , or at least bottled there . By the way , love the bee bottle , I need one of those suckers !
With out labels or embossing who knowsssss what lurked in those bottles.[8D]This one might have held the fountain of youth. Why wasn't it filled when I dug it? []
The round bottom bottle I have is not embossed. There is nothing on the bottle whatsoever. Thanks for all of your comments, at least I know a little bit more about it.
In Australia, the bottles are more commonly known as "Round Enders" and often referred to (incorrectly) Maugham's Patent. In most cases, they would have contained soda water. Most of ours are from South Australia, where at least 40 manufacturers used them
